Psychotherapist
IL
Hello, my name is Michelle Kos. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a Master's in Counseling and Organizational Psychology from Adler University, and I have over 15 years of experience helping others. I have worked with people from all walks of life, from very small children through adulthood. I have extensive experience supporting individuals facing a wide range of mental health concerns, including depression, anger, hopelessness, anxiety, stress, and dysfunctional eating. My goal as a therapist is to create a safe space to discuss feelings openly and without judgment so we can begin to progress toward desired goals. I pride myself on my ability to build a therapeutic relationship with my clients that allows us to work openly and collaboratively. We all face challenges in life, and I have the utmost respect for my clients and their willingness to seek help. My ultimate goal is to ensure they feel safe and comfortable throughout the process. My approach to counseling is eclectic and integrative, focusing on the unique needs of each client. A style I often find very effective is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which emphasizes how thoughts and behaviors interact. Great strides can be made when we reframe and refocus our energy. I work with clients to make small, actionable steps toward progress. When life hands us challenges, it can be overwhelming, but focusing on small steps toward a larger goal can reduce stress and help us move forward. I meet my clients where they are and work together to progress at their pace. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you and support you through whatever challenges life throws your way.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
