Getting to know Michelle Marin

Hi there, I'm Michelle! Hello, my name is Michelle Marin and I am an LCSW with a Master’s in Social Work from California State University, Fresno. I help adults struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, and trauma. My practice is patient-centered and patient-driven. I enjoy incorporating mindfulness techniques and adaptive coping skills to promote self-efficacy. Together, we can work towards self-discovery and a better quality of life through identifying triggers, self-insight, self-awareness, mindfulness, healthy coping mechanisms, and client-driven objectives. My approach I assist clients through a narrative approach, believing everyone has a story to tell. I also use solution-focused interventions, mindfulness and somatic techniques, Trauma Resiliency Model (TRM) interventions, CBT approaches, and EMDR techniques including Flash Technique. My focus I enjoy working with adults struggling with anxiety, depression, life transitions, and trauma. I emphasize highlighting and utilizing client strengths to improve adaptive coping. My communication style I use self-reflection questions while maintaining a warm and welcoming environment. I hope clients feel seen and heard, yet challenged to make adaptive and healthy choices. My journey to therapy I became a social worker in 2013 and wanted to make a bigger impact by becoming a therapist. I value hearing stories and discovering ways to improve quality of life. It is my passion to guide others through life-changing events. My goals for you I involve clients in goal setting and use scaling questions to gauge their perspective. I firmly believe in client self-determination and involvement in their treatment plan. My first session with you I strive to make clients feel comfortable and safe during their first session, understanding how intimidating seeking help can be.
