Getting to know Michelle Mayer

Regardless of your reason for seeking a therapist, I strive to build a therapeutic alliance with every client to create an environment that is supportive, responsive, and focused on each client's identified goals and desired outcomes. As a clinician, I aim to exude warmth and foster respect, trust, and empathy to help every client feel supported in their journey. I typically employ an integrative approach to therapy, grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and psychodynamic methodologies. My hope for every client is that through this therapeutic alliance, we can work together toward your goals and help you understand how the tools, skills, and work in therapy can lead to meaningful and lasting change in your life. Reaching out and contacting a therapist is a significant step-an accomplishment and a sign of growth in itself. I hold a Master's degree in Clinical Social Work from Fordham University, which has equipped me with the knowledge and skills to support clients effectively throughout their therapeutic process.

What should a new client know about working with you?

We accept MEDICAID plans as well under that are managed under Fidelis, Healthfirst or UHC Community Plan Whether you want help coping with a temporary or ongoing issue, need to vent and sort through your feelings, or would like some guidance on deciding where and how to start in approaching your life circumstances, I am here and am looking forwards to getting to know you and working as team towards your journey.
