Michelle is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and a Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA) who is currently serving as the Clinical Director of ABA Services in Oregon. Michelle obtained her Bachelor of Arts Degree from California State University Northridge with a double major in Psychology and Deaf Studies (ASL Interpreting). Michelle began working in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) during undergrad and fell in love with ABA. She went on to complete her Masters of Arts in Behavioral Clinical Psychology, at California State University, Northridge. During her masters Michelle completed 1500 hours of practicum ABA experience under Dr. Tara Fahmie. Michelle has worked in the field of ABA for over 10 years and has held many roles during that time. Like most clinicians in the field, Michelle started as a Behavior Technician, and then worked her way to Clinical Supervisor, BCBA, Case Manager, IBU Program Supervisor and now Clinical Director of ABA Services. As the Clinical Director Michelle oversees the ABA services at LifeStance and the use of evidence based interventions. She strongly feels that ABA is best done as a collaborative approach and therefore focuses on close collaboration with local SLPs (speech therapists), OT (occupational therapist), and school districts in the area. In addition, Michelle knows that good quality ABA starts with staff satisfaction and retention and focuses on ensuring the ABA clinic is a positive place to work with a close team environment. Over the years Michelle has had the pleasure of presenting her clinical research at state and local conferences. Michelle is very active in her ABA community including serving on ORABA Board in a multitude of roles including being their president from 2020 to 2022. Currently Michelle is the Director of the Leaders group in ORABA, offering support to everyone in ABA clinical leadership in the state.
