“As someone who studied Social Work, I always believed therapy was only for those who had experienced “real” trauma—until my own wounds surfaced and led me to seek help over five years ago. I cannot express how grateful I am that I was guided to Michelly. Michelly has been much more than a therapist. She helped me uncover the strength and resilience I didn’t know I had, challenged the negative and self-sabotaging thoughts that once defined me( believe me this is hard!) and has supported me through some of my most vulnerable moments. Her, compassion, expertise and genuine commitment to helping others are evident from the very first meeting. I am incredibly thankful for the impact she has had on my life and the person she has helped me become. ”

“For the full (approximately) year and a half she's been my therapist, Michelly has always been unconditionally supportive and very easy to talk to throughout our sessions. She always holds a nonjudgmental space for me to express my thoughts and emotions regardless of how lighthearted or heavy they are. I've learned healthy coping strategies and a better understanding of my emotions and how to navigate them. I also really appreciate her patience and empathy. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for an experienced, flexible, and kind therapist.”

Getting to know Michelly Garcia-Arroyo

Perinatal & Postpartum Mental Health - Trauma-Informed Therapy Motherhood can be deeply meaningful, yet it can also feel overwhelming, isolating, and far different from what you expected. You may be navigating pregnancy, postpartum, or early motherhood while feeling anxious, emotionally exhausted, or unlike yourself. Many mothers experience postpartum depression, postpartum anxiety, intrusive thoughts, birth trauma, or the emotional impact of a premature birth or NICU stay. You may be longing for a space where you can speak openly about what you are carrying, make sense of your experience, and reconnect with your inner steadiness. I specialize in perinatal and postpartum mental health and trauma-informed care. My approach integrates insight-oriented therapy with body-based practices that support nervous system regulation and emotional processing. Together we gently explore your experiences, helping you move toward greater grounding, resilience, and self-trust. Reaching out for support can feel vulnerable, especially during a time that others may expect to be joyful. You deserve care, understanding, and a space where your experiences are held with compassion. I offer a free 15-minute consultation to see if working together feels like a good fit.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I specialize in perinatal and postpartum mental health and trauma-informed care. My approach integrates insight-oriented therapy with body-based practices that support nervous system regulation and emotional processing. Together we gently explore your experiences, helping you move toward greater grounding, resilience, and self-trust.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I begin with a free 15-minute consultation so we can connect, answer your questions, and make sure working together feels like the right fit. From there, I take time to understand your full experience — not just what you're struggling with, but your history, your nervous system, and the strengths you already carry. My approach weaves together insight-oriented therapy and body-based practices, so we work with both your mind and body to support healing. Our sessions move at your pace. We gently explore what you've been through — whether that's postpartum depression, anxiety, birth trauma, or the emotional toll of a NICU stay — and work toward greater grounding, resilience, and self-trust. You will always have a compassionate, judgment-free space here.

I've had a wonderful experience working with Michelly. Before starting therapy, I thought I knew myself very well and assumed that after a few sessions I would probably feel I didn't need to continue. I considered myself highly self-aware and believed I could work through most things on my own. It didn't take long for me to realize how much I still had to learn and how valuable therapy could be. Working with Michelly has helped me navigate challenges in my day-to-day life with greater clarity and understanding. Through our sessions, I've come to appreciate how much we can continue to grow, heal, and evolve throughout adulthood. Michelly's kindness, compassion, and professionalism create a safe and supportive environment that has made a meaningful difference in my life. I am incredibly grateful for her guidance and highly recommend her to anyone seeking a thoughtful, skilled, and caring therapist.

Michelly is one of the most amazing, inspirational therapist I have seen in years. She goes above and beyond to ensure our sessions are a safe space for any conversation, whether it delves into tough situations and memories, or even a casual life update. She is willing to accommodate in case any emergencies or unexpected events come up. She helps create a space where I can be honest and open about any worries, and provides great solutions to seek better alternatives or solutions.
Working with Michelly has been a truly positive experience. From our first session, I felt comfortable, understood, and supported. They have an incredible ability to listen deeply while offering practical tools and meaningful perspectives. Her kindness, patience, and genuine care have made a significant difference in my life, and I am deeply thankful for the support they have provided.” Michelly is so amazing I highly recommend her
Michelly is an incredible therapist! We worked together for 3 years, and during that time, she helped me grow in ways I didn’t know were possible. Her support always felt thoughtful, grounded, and genuinely caring. I’m grateful for the impact she’s had on my life. I can't recommend her enough!
Michelley Garcia-Arroyo created a very comfortable and supportive environment during sessions. She was patient, attentive, and genuinely listened without making me feel rushed or judged. I appreciated how understanding and compassionate she was throughout the appointment, and I felt heard and respected the entire time. Even virtually, she was able to create a safe space where I felt comfortable opening up. I’m grateful for the positive experience and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and professional provider.
Michelly helped me through such a pivotal time in my life. When my mother passed away, and then I got pregnant about a year after, I thought I would be drowning in depression. With Michelly’s guidance and support I navigated my grief in a healthy way, planned for my birth, was able to advocate for my labor plan, protected my body, and protected my mental space. I didn’t deal with postpartum depression this time around - I was able to go back to work and then even grew my career from there. Thankful, always, for Michelly and her work with me.
