Getting to know Miguel Lopez

I'm Miguel Lopez, a Hispanic U.S. Army veteran, therapist, and a fluent Spanish speaker. My unique background and more than a decade of experience in social work, including as a caseworker, substance abuse counselor, and therapist, allows me to assist individuals as they navigate through life's challenges. Everyone encounters difficulties in life: breakups, grief, loss, job loss. These moments may require an unbiased individual's support, which is where I come in. From my personal encounters with trauma, grief, depression, and substance abuse, I understand the importance of seeking help and have built it into my approach to therapy. My Master’s Degree in Social Work from Walden University, combined with my Bachelor's and Associate's Degrees in Criminal Justice, has laid a robust educational foundation for my role as a therapist. I use Maslow's hierarchy of needs as my guiding principle, predicated on the belief that physical well-being is a prerequisite for mental health. I work with diverse clients ranging from 5 to geriatric age, helping them combat issues like Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, PTSD, Personality Disorders, and more. Don't struggle silently; we can traverse the path to healing together. That's my commitment as a therapist. Outside of therapy, I'm a sports enthusiast who enjoys basketball, softball, and golf, and a family man who loves spending time with my loved ones.
