Getting to know Mike Malone

We are all facing difficult challenges in life, and often we find ourselves unsure of where to turn or what to do. It’s easy to get stuck in a rut and sometimes we just need a little nudge to get moving again. I’m glad you have taken the first step in seeking help. Counseling can seem daunting, but it can also be very beneficial and rewarding as a way to better understand ourselves. My hope is that as you continue reading about me, you’ll find comfort and confidence in partnering together on your journey. My name is Mike, and I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida. I earned my Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Southeastern Louisiana University. Throughout my career, my goal has been to help others better understand the difficulties they face and find a path to work through those challenges. I do this by meeting clients openly and without judgment, right where they are. My approach draws on principles from multiple theorists, each offering benefits depending on the issues at hand. Our focus will be on the present—the here and now. When necessary, we’ll explore past events and triggers to better understand how they inform the present, but our work remains grounded in the present moment. Together, we will collaborate to understand current problems, set realistic goals for progress, and develop skills not only to overcome current issues but also to face future concerns. My areas of practice include working with blended families, intimacy issues, infertility and adoption decisions, grief and loss, stages of life, compassion fatigue and caregiver challenges, as well as anxiety, stress, and depression. You’ve taken an important first step on the journey to a healthier you. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you. Ultimately, whether you choose to work with me or another counselor, I hope you gain a better understanding of yourself and create a brighter future. Best wishes, Mike

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
