Getting to know Mike McInerney

Are you feeling depressed or anxious? Struggling to make sense of your relationships? Let me help! Hello, I’m Mike McInerney, a part-time private therapist for adults. I have been counseling adults and families for more than 20 years. I hold a Master’s in Psychology from Chestnut Hill College and a Bachelor’s degree from DeSales University. Maybe you found me searching for online counseling services or maybe you were referred here by a friend or family member. First and foremost, I wish you well. Life is full of challenges, and we could all use a little help. Currently, I am open to working with a small handful of clients online on Mondays and Tuesdays. My approach is inviting and warm, and I use humor if and when appropriate. Working with a therapist should be tailored to meet your needs. Some people need a safe, confidential space to explore thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Others prefer a more solution-focused approach. Working together, we will figure out what is best for you. Please feel free to contact me. Responses are typically within 48 hours.

What should a new client know about working with you?

First and foremost, my goal is to make a connection with my clients. Time and time again, research has proven that the client / counselor relationship is the biggest predictor of success in therapy. To that point, I will offer a safe, confidential, nonjudgmental space for each person I work with. Hopefully, clients learn something a little more about themselves each and every time we meet.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
