Getting to know Mikki-Lee Burgess

The provider is a “Licensed Professional Counselor" and their license number is 37PC00964700 Are you struggling with depression, anxiety, relationship issues, or current stressors and want to navigate life's challenges from a Christian worldview? If so, I am here to help! ?Proverbs 15:22: ?Without consultation, plans are frustrated, but with many counselors, they succeed.'? I am a licensed professional counselor in New Jersey and Pennsylvania with experience working with children and adults in individual and group settings. I earned my Master's in Professional Counseling from Liberty University. I pride myself on having a down-to-earth, collaborative approach in each therapy session. I am relatable, empathetic, and take an honest and sensitive approach in the counseling process. While I am a Christian therapist and enjoy incorporating the Christian perspective in counseling sessions, I am willing to work with clients from different faith backgrounds. My goal is to provide a safe place that allows each client to be heard, become the best version of themselves, and develop healthy coping skills that enable them to thrive.

What should a new client know about working with you?

During the first session, we will work on building a rapport and discussing the presenting problems that led you to seek counseling. We will complete a background assessment that will allow me to get to know you better and learn things like family background, medical background, interests etc. Throughout sessions together, you will have a safe space to grow, heal, and be gently challenged.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
