Psychotherapist
AZ
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Arizona. I have extensive experience working with people who struggle with depression, anxiety, addiction, and trauma. I have worked in many different settings during my career, and I welcome all people, from all backgrounds, with an open mind. My approach I primarily utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, but I tap into a variety of other theories as needed. Basically, my style is to help clients build insight and understanding about patterns of thinking and behaving that are causing dysfunction or unhappiness. Once this knowledge is present, I work with clients to intentionally challenge and alter those problematic thoughts and behaviors, which usually leads to symptom relief. My focus The most common concerns that clients bring to me are mood disorders, including depression, anxiety, panic attacks, addiction, trauma, and ADHD. Clients seem to be struggling with relationship issues, issues related to their career/school, and low self-esteem, to name a few. Clients should come to these sessions ready to be listened to, validated, and understood as we work together through whatever you bring to the session. My communication style My style is very laid back, open-minded, and strengths-based, and I love to bring in humor whenever possible. I do not practice any type of therapy that looks like just listening and saying, "How does that make you feel?". In a short period of time, my clients usually feel deeply understood and appreciated within our working relationship. It is also important to me that clients feel they are "getting something" from our work together, so I often offer direct feedback, observations, challenges, or even homework to move clients toward meeting their goals as quickly as possible.
