Getting to know Miranda Curnane
I am licensed in Connecticut with 3 years of professional work experience. I hold a Master's in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Hartford. I have experience helping clients with stress and anxiety, depression, LGBTQ+ related issues, family conflicts, and parenting challenges. Additionally, I have worked with children and adolescents facing behavioral and mental health concerns.
I take a person-centered approach, believing that you know yourself best and have the ability to make positive changes. My role is to guide you along the way. I also utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy to help challenge unhealthy thought patterns and promote emotional regulation. Seeking help can be the hardest part of making changes, and I am proud of you for taking that step! I look forward to working with you.

What should a new client know about working with you?
My primary focus during sessions is to listen to the needs of a client and validate their feelings. I aid clients in coming up with practical solutions to problems when appropriate. For life challenges which are not able to be changed, I work with clients to challenge unhealthy thinking surrounding the situation and build skills to tolerate distress. I encourage clients to practice self-care and typically wrap up with how a client can practice this until next session.

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
