Hi, I’m Miranda! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who specializes in maternal and pediatric mental health. Maternal and pediatric mental health recognizes the interconnectedness of mother and child.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Both motherhood and childhood are full of stressful transitions which can lead to development of mental health symptoms. For many women, motherhood brings up feelings of anxiety, depression, childhood trauma, struggles with identity, and questions about parenting. Similarly in childhood, many children experience difficulties with feelings of anxiety, depression, behavioral issues, and social pressures. Figuring out why these things are occurring can be confusing and scary and so, that’s where I come in! When working with women and children my goal is to provide a comfortable, safe, and supportive environment to openly process feelings.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My approach to therapy is tailored to your individual needs. I work closely with you to understand your goals and personality in order to determine what approach might work best for you. Commonly, my approach includes elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Strength-based Therapy, and Structural Family Therapy. These approaches allow you and I the opportunity to explore your current challenges and empower you to learn new ways to overcome them. From one mother to another, you are not alone. I am here to help you navigate through this difficult period in yours and/or your child’s life. If you feel like we might be a good match please reach out!
