Getting to know Miranda Rackers

I believe therapy should feel like a conversation—not like you’re left to figure everything out on your own. I work with adults, children, couples, and families navigating anxiety, stress, life transitions, relationship challenges, and feeling overwhelmed. Whether you're new to therapy or returning, I focus on building a strong, trusting relationship first so you feel safe, understood, and comfortable showing up as yourself. What should a new client know about working with you?

Starting therapy can feel intimidating, so I aim to make the process as comfortable and straightforward as possible. In our first few sessions, we’ll focus on getting to know each other, understanding what’s bringing you in, and identifying what you’d like to be different in your life. My style is interactive and supportive—you won’t be left wondering what to say or do. I’ll ask questions, offer insights, and help guide the conversation in a way that feels natural and productive. At the same time, there’s no pressure to share more than you’re ready for. We move at a pace that feels right for you. You can expect sessions to be practical and personalized. We’ll work on building skills, shifting patterns, and finding realistic ways to handle what you’re going through outside of session—not just talking about it in the moment. Most importantly, this is a space where you can show up as you are—no judgment, no pressure, just support and real conversation.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In our first session, we’ll focus on getting a clear picture of what’s bringing you in, your history, and what you’re hoping to get out of therapy. This is also a chance for you to ask questions and make sure the fit feels right. From there, sessions are conversational but intentional. We’ll usually start with a check-in on how things have been since we last met, then focus on what feels most important that day. I’ll help guide the conversation, offer feedback and perspective, and work with you to identify patterns, challenges, and next steps. I take a practical, solution-focused approach, so sessions often include learning and practicing skills you can use in your everyday life—not just processing in the moment. Depending on your needs, we may also explore past experiences, relationships, and thought patterns that are impacting you now. As we continue working together, we’ll set goals, track progress, and adjust as needed so therapy stays helpful and relevant to you.
