At times your past comes to haunt you, and guilt and shame can rear their ugly heads. Perhaps you find yourself in limbo, trapped between two cultures. And yet your innermost desires cater more to a modern “American life.” Living between two worlds can at times be a difficult balancing act and you feel as if you do not fit anywhere. I became a therapist because I didn’t want anyone to go to therapy and feel that their culture was dismissed. I wanted everyone who is in cultural limbo to have a safe place where they could be heard and understood. I believe the human experience is one of unique consciousness, experience, and struggle.
