I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a Qualified Supervisor for Mental Health Interns with over 20 years of experience. I hold a Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from Carlos Albizu University, Miami. I bring a broad base of experiences that include psychology, education, managerial roles, information technology awareness, and criminal/legal investigations. My most recent work includes serving as a Therapist and Group Facilitator for sexual offenders under probation from the Department of Correction and Federal Courts. I have worked as a Clinician in chemical dependence facilities; Assessor and Behavioral Therapist for a private facility; Clinical Director on two occasions for chemical dependency facilities; Mobile Crisis Team (MCT) Supervisor; Treatment Plan Coordinator and Baker Act Agent at two mental health centers; Bilingual Addiction Counselor and Facilitator in the DETOX and Intensive Outpatient Program/Addiction Unit; Clinical Therapist/Facilitator/Case Manager for sexually violent offenders; Intake Coordinator; and Senior Mental Health Practitioner/Clinician/Therapist throughout Florida. Additionally, I have served as an Adjunct Professor at Miami-Dade College and supervised mental health counseling students nearing graduation as well as mental health counselor interns awaiting licensure.
My experience in the mental health field is extensive, working with alcoholics and drug addicts committed to lifelong rehabilitation; violent sexual offenders and predators in civil commitment and on probation; children, adolescents, and families; the geriatric population; couples and divorcees; inmates; substance-abusing juveniles; immigrant farmworkers; victims and aggressors of domestic violence; and multicultural clients throughout Florida.
