Miriam DeBerry, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in California and Missouri, holding a Master’s in Counseling from the University of Phoenix. For over 17 years, I have assisted individual adults and couples through various phases of their lives to gain clarity, perspective, and resolution. My integrative therapeutic approaches—including solution-focused, motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused CBT, systemic, client-centered, and acceptance & commitment interventions—have helped clients create healthier life choices for a positive present and future. With an open heart, mind, and soul, I am here to support you into the next stages of your life. My approach I use psychodynamic methods to help clients achieve a positive quality of life. Client-centered and cognitive behavioral modalities are my primary styles, guiding clients to collaboratively formulate goals for the change or acceptance they wish to see. My systemic approach enables clients to work through internal, relational, work, and daily stressors that often result in traumatic and distressing impressions. My focus I work to motivate adults and couples to reduce symptoms of anxiety, depression, stress, and conflict. The joy of my work lies in helping each person determine the next best steps for themselves or their relationship to thrive. I compassionately and enthusiastically care for those I support, guiding them through life’s highs and lows toward a more manageable and sustainable perspective. My communication style I communicate openly, authentically, directly, and honestly to create a positive environment where clients can express themselves freely. I want clients to feel heard, respected, and at ease as they explore the complexities that brought them to therapy. The environment I foster offers the freedom to openly evaluate, explore, and move beyond the challenges causing discomfort individually or within a couple.
