Getting to know Misha Vernatter
Come as you are; all are welcomed! My name is Misha, and I am a licensed mental health professional with many years of experience serving diverse populations. I hold a Master's in Social Work from Yeshiva University. I know how it feels to come to the realization that you need and want help but are afraid to seek it. If you're anything like I was, it can be nerve-racking to think about revealing your inner self to a stranger. Whether you are on a journey seeking personal awareness, dealing with major life transitions, traumatic events, or relationship issues, my purpose is to help my patients achieve and improve their quality of life. As someone who has been on the other side of the screen looking for a therapist, my goal as a therapist is to be the therapist I needed-someone who is genuinely empathic, open to various ways of thinking and living, nonjudgmental, caring, knowledgeable, thought-provoking, and human. The goal is to be a little better today than you were yesterday. We all have struggles, and sometimes it helps not to struggle alone.
What should a new client know about working with you?
I use a holistic, integrative, culturally sensitive, person-centered approach in order to meet the individualized needs of each patient aka I meet you where you are, at the pace you are comfortable, and go from there. I specialize in working with individuals dealing with depression, anxiety, self esteem issues, chronic illness, grief, and life transitions.

my appointment was canceled 10 minutes after my scheduled time and I didn't receive any phone call or email for the reason why before or even after. really discouraging for a person struggling to find help. Update: I am now being charged $70 for her own cancellation.
