Getting to know Misty Grimes
Hello, I'm Misty, and welcome to Blue Phoenix Counseling. My mission is to provide a safe, non-judgmental space where you can process and heal from life's challenges and trauma. Together, we will work towards finding new perspectives and wisdom that you can apply in your daily life to enhance your overall happiness and well-being. I believe that happiness is an inside job, and for your light to radiate outward, it must first shine from within. At Blue Phoenix, I'm here to assist you in discovering that inner light.
I hold a Master of Social Work (MSW) and am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Since 2011, I have been dedicated to helping individuals through various treatment settings, including mental health intensive outpatient programs, substance use intensive outpatient programs, and outpatient clinics. This diverse experience has equipped me with a versatile skill set to address a wide range of clinical needs.
My specialties include treating depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, recovery from domestic violence, and substance addiction. I also work with clients dealing with ADHD, eating disorders, life transitions, PTSD, intimate and romantic relationships, stress, trauma, and traumatic brain injury. I offer SonderMind Video Telehealth sessions for those who prefer or require remote therapy.
My therapeutic approach is patient-centered, meaning I tailor my methods to meet your unique needs. Whether it's through cognitive-behavioral techniques, mindfulness practices, or other therapeutic modalities, my goal is to meet you where you are and support you in becoming your best self.
Outside of my professional life, I am passionate about creating a warm and welcoming environment for my clients. I believe in the power of empathy, compassion, and understanding as the foundation for effective therapy. When you work with me, you can expect a collaborative and supportive journey towards healing and growth.
