Hi there, I'm Mitchell! Hello! My name is Mitchell Daas. I'm a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with a Master?s in Clinical Psychology from Bethel University, here to support and empower you toward your own life worth living goals. My approach My approach is client-centered. I focus on balancing acceptance and change in any moment and working toward building the life you want. I believe in treating everyone with a compassionate, non-judgmental stance and encourage change when needed. I typically use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness and Trauma-Focused Therapy, Emotionally-Focused Therapy, Gottman Method, Somatic Therapy, and Prolonged Exposure. My focus I typically work with individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, ADHD/ADD, stress, family conflict, LGBTA+ issues, addictions, chronic pain illness, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, and workplace issues. My communication style During sessions, I focus on creating a safe environment that embraces acceptance of what is going on while encouraging change as needed. I usually have a collaborative agenda each session based on our treatment goals and what happens during the week. I also make sure to support you directly and tailor aspects of therapy to better suit you?from homework to processing. My journey to mental healthcare My big push to becoming a therapist started when I was volunteering as an advocate at the University of Minnesota and working indirectly with some therapists. My drive to be a therapist comes from wanting to make a huge impact in someone?s life and walking alongside each person?s journey. My goals for you I typically approach goal setting in our second session when we sit down and create a treatment plan together. I often use a values-based exercise tied with areas getting in the way to help guide goal setting. My first session with you During our first session, we will focus on an intake where we spend time getting to know each other.
