Psychotherapist
5100 S Dawson St, Suite 204, Seattle, WA
We can never be fully prepared for how life changes once we have children. Learning how to be a parent without losing other important relationships and parts of ourselves can be even more challenging when facing a traumatic birth, unexpected medical diagnoses, or an increase in anxiety, overwhelm, or anger. I am a therapist who listens closely and with curiosity, supporting you in processing loss and rebuilding your sense of self and your relationships. With humor and compassion, I can guide you in strengthening your confidence and identity as a parent and a partner. I understand the isolation and grief that can arise during and after pregnancy, and how hard it is to be vulnerable. That’s why I’ve supported new parents since 2006. I have built on lived experience—as a single mom, stepmom, and mother of a child with complex medical needs and a typically developing child—along with advanced training and certification in perinatal mental health. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from Southern Connecticut State University. You can find a new balance and feel better. Please reach out if you’re worried about your emotions during pregnancy or postpartum, or if you’re struggling with parenthood and relationships in other ways. I see clients in person on Mondays and Thursdays and remotely Monday through Thursday (must be in Washington state).

What should a new client know about working with you?

Becoming a parent is a profound life change. It's hard work and it's a process, even when it literally happens overnight. Whether a pregnancy is planned or not, new parents often experience unexpected and uncomfortable emotions like fear, despair, irritability, and rage. My job is to help you understand how and why these feelings come up, and to find ways to turn down their volume.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

After an initial (free) consultation via video call, we can meet remotely or in person once weekly or every other week. I am trained in EMDR, PACT (for couple counseling), ACT, and CBT. I am a certified perinatal mental health provider (PMH-C).
