The provider is supervised by Melissa Griffing. I provide a compassionate, collaborative space where clients feel safe, supported, and understood. I work with children, adolescents, adults, families, military families, foster and adoptive families, and individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, behavioral concerns, relationship challenges, chronic illness, and life transitions. My approach is trauma-informed, relational, and tailored to each client’s unique needs and experiences. I integrate Adlerian play therapy, somatic practices, psychoeducation, neuroscience-informed interventions, and other evidence-based techniques to help clients build emotional regulation, self-awareness, resilience, and healthier relationships. I believe therapy should feel supportive, practical, and empowering. Reaching out for help can feel vulnerable, so I strive to create an environment where clients feel genuinely seen, heard, and respected throughout the process. My goal is to help clients develop practical tools for lasting growth while strengthening their confidence and connection to themselves and others.

I believe therapy should feel supportive, practical, and empowering. My goal is to help clients develop practical tools for lasting growth while strengthening their confidence and connection to themselves and others.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I prioritize creating a safe, welcoming, and nonjudgmental environment where you can feel comfortable being themselves. I understand that starting therapy can feel intimidating, and I aim to make the process collaborative, approachable, and supportive from the very beginning. I believe every person's story is unique, so I tailor therapy to each person’s individual needs, strengths, and goals. I value authenticity, trust, and connection within the therapeutic relationship and believe meaningful change happens when clients feel both supported and encouraged. You can expect me to be compassionate, honest, engaged, and collaborative throughout the therapeutic process. I balance emotional support with practical strategies and tools you can apply in everyday life. I also value understanding each individual's cultural background, lived experiences, and family dynamics, and I strive to provide care that feels respectful, affirming, and individualized. My goal is for you to leave sessions feeling heard, empowered, and more confident in navigating life’s challenges and relationships.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My process begins with getting to know each client’s experiences, concerns, strengths, and goals while building a strong therapeutic relationship. During the first few sessions, I focus on creating a safe and supportive environment where clients feel comfortable sharing their experiences and identifying what they hope to gain from therapy. From there, we work collaboratively to create an individualized treatment approach tailored to the client’s needs. Sessions may include processing emotions and experiences, identifying patterns, building coping skills, improving communication, strengthening emotional regulation, and developing practical tools clients can use outside of therapy. When working with children and families, I often incorporate play-based and expressive interventions while collaborating with caregivers to support growth within the family system. Throughout therapy, I regularly check in on progress and adjust our work together as clients’ needs and goals evolve.
