Molly Gray, LICSW

Psychotherapist
RI
Hi there, I'm Molly! I am an Independently Licensed Social Worker with over ten years of experience in the field. I have a background in treating mood disorders, life transitions, childhood trauma, anxiety, eating disorders, substance abuse issues, grief, and loss, amongst a number of other challenges. My approach I was trained at Smith College from a Psychodynamic approach and feel that each client brings their own unique experiences and viewpoints to the session. I believe that we as individuals have the tools needed to heal and become our most authentic selves, but at times, this may get muddied by lived experiences, interpersonal patterns, and internal narratives. My goal is to help provide a space where each client can explore these patterns and develop a set of techniques to tackle each challenge with confidence and self-compassion. I strive to create a space where clients feel comfortable exploring their individual needs, challenges, and personal goals without judgment or expectations. My focus I have had experience working with individuals ranging from adolescents to older adults in both inpatient, group, and outpatient settings. I look to support anyone who may be struggling with anxiety, trauma, attachment, mood disorders, life transitions, women’s issues, and career challenges, amongst a number of other concerns. My approach tends to be best directed towards individuals who are interested in developing a deeper knowledge of themselves in order to achieve a better quality of life. My communication style My goal is to help clients feel comfortable speaking about the topics they choose to focus on and identifying their own goals for treatment. I feel that humor, honesty, and humility are core components to reaching a grounded therapeutic alliance. I can be direct when appropriate, but not without assessment of each client’s personal preference and needs. My goals for you I believe that each therapeutic connection is fluid and ever-changing.
