Monica Denais, LPC

Psychotherapist
TX
I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor providing virtual therapy to adults in Texas and Florida. I specialize in working with women who feel stuck in cycles of anxiety, overthinking, perfectionism, and burnout, especially high-achieving women, first-generation women, and eldest daughters who have spent much of their lives feeling responsible for everyone else. My approach to therapy is practical, supportive, and goal-oriented. I use evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for anxiety and OCD-related concerns. Together, we work to understand what is driving your stress, build tools to manage anxiety and intrusive thoughts, and create sustainable changes that support your mental health and daily life. I strive to create a space that feels grounded, collaborative, and nonjudgmental. Therapy with me is not about fixing you. It is about helping you better understand yourself, set healthier boundaries, and move forward with more clarity and confidence.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Clients often describe my style as warm, direct, and structured. I balance emotional support with practical tools so sessions feel both validating and productive. We will move at a pace that feels manageable while still working intentionally toward your goals. In our work together, you can expect a collaborative approach where your input and goals guide the process. I provide clear explanations of patterns related to anxiety, perfectionism, and overthinking, along with practical strategies you can apply outside of sessions. There is space to process emotions without pressure or judgment, and sessions are designed to feel supportive while still helping you move forward. I believe therapy works best when it is transparent and empowering. I regularly check in about what is helpful, what is not, and how we can adjust our work to better support you. Whether you are navigating anxiety, burnout, major life transitions, or long-standing patterns that feel hard to break, my goal is to help you feel more grounded, confident, and aligned in your life

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our work usually begins with an initial session focused on understanding what brings you to therapy, your goals, and any patterns that may be contributing to stress, anxiety, or feeling stuck. I take time to learn about your background, current challenges, and what you hope to get out of therapy so we can create a plan that feels realistic and supportive. Ongoing sessions are collaborative and structured while still allowing space to process emotions as they come up. We may explore thought patterns, behaviors, and emotional responses, while also practicing practical tools to help you manage anxiety, overthinking, or perfectionism in everyday life. Sessions often include reflection, skill-building, and discussing how to apply what we talk about outside of therapy. As therapy progresses, we regularly check in on your goals and adjust our approach as needed. My aim is for sessions to feel focused, empowering, and aligned with what matters most to you, helping you build insight, confidence, and long-term coping skills.
