We all go through periods of feeling lost, confused, or overwhelmed. Life is full of situations that can trigger these feelings—job stress, relationship trouble, the loss of a loved one, chronic health issues, and parenting difficulties, to name just a few. Sometimes it's the culmination of just too many small demands that have put us over the edge and cause us to suffer. We can't avoid the stressors of life, but we can learn to get better at coping effectively with them. It's often helpful to develop some insights as to how our beliefs contribute to our emotions and, ultimately, our behaviors. Examining those beliefs and experimenting with new behaviors leads to healthier coping strategies that will help us thrive. I'm here to partner with you on this journey. I am a licensed therapist and have been helping clients "find their way back" for over 20 years. I've worked with a broad range of individuals from diverse backgrounds and with a variety of issues, from depression and anxiety to bipolar illness and schizophrenia. I have been fortunate to have the experience of working in a variety of settings, including general outpatient therapy clinics, in-home treatment, residential facilities, jails, and, most recently, running an intensive hospital-based mental health treatment program. Over the years, I've also partnered with many psychiatrists to coordinate care for clients who take psychiatric medications. We all have what it takes inside us to regain our mental health, but it often helps immensely to have a supportive and non-judgmental guide to help us navigate our way back. Now is the time to put yourself first and get the support you deserve. Give me a call to discuss your needs and see if I may be a good fit for you. I'm happy to see you in person at my office in Colorado Springs or via video session.
