Monica Juarez, MA

Psychotherapist
53 W Jackson Blvd, Ste 1615, Chicago, IL
I have experience working with multiple populations-from children, teens, couples, and families to individuals seeking therapy. As human beings, it is paramount that we feel seen and known. As a Latina, I have a strong desire to provide resources for Black and Brown people who have felt barred from therapy due to stigma within these communities. I hope you allow me the opportunity to provide a space for you on your healing journey. I earned both my Bachelor's degree and Master's in Couple and Family Counseling from Northeastern Illinois University. Currently, I reside on the northwest side of Chicago. I was born and raised on the north side and consider myself a bit of a pizza connoisseur. Fall and summer are my favorite seasons. In my free time, I am an outdoor enthusiast and can often be found hiking, running, kayaking, or camping alongside friends and family.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My approach to working with clients is to listen to more than just their words but also their underlying feelings. I believe in being fully present and creating opportunities for clients to be seen and understood. Through my work with children, teens, individuals, and couples, I see a myriad of presenting issues. Anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem, family of origin struggles, and issues with spirituality are just a picture of issues discussed within sessions. I pull from multiple schools of therapy to provide a tailored approach to each individual client and their needs.
