Getting to know Monica Michelle Collins

**We kindly request intake paperwork to be completed within 24 hours.* My name is Michelle Collins, LPC, LCDC. I am a professional counselor and licensed chemical dependency counselor, and I have been working in this field since 2014. I hold a Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. I have worked with teens, adults, and couples in a variety of settings, and my mission is to help individuals find solutions and meet challenges head-on. I work with individuals who struggle with trauma, mood disorders, personality disorders, and grief. My own experiences have shaped the way I view this work, and I am passionate about helping people find their voice, their path, and their purpose. I feel fortunate to work in a profession that allows me to be present with people and watch them transition into the best version of themselves. My focus in therapy is to meet you where you're at and provide techniques that meet your needs, explore your strengths, and help you find balance. I utilize evidence-based approaches but tailor treatment and interventions to meet your specific needs and goals. I regularly use CBT, DBT, and solution-focused therapies, but I appreciate techniques from various modalities. I am trained in EMDR, a therapy that is very effective and has been used successfully to treat trauma and PTSD. I will always respect your boundaries and celebrate your uniqueness. I want the individuals I serve to feel empowered, understood, and safe. It is not easy asking for help, and it is not always comfortable to share intimate details of your life with someone you don't know. At times, you may feel like you can't make it through, but I want to assure you that you are stronger than you might think. This journey through life can be challenging, but I would like to support you and let you know that you are not alone.
