I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and African-American Studies from the University of Virginia and a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Maryland-Baltimore, with a Clinical concentration and dual specializations in Mental Health and Employee Assistance Programs. Over the years, I've had the privilege of working with clients facing a wide range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges, multi-cultural issues, and substance use disorders. I've also supported many individuals who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse. My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, solution-focused, and motivational counseling. I will tailor our dialogue and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. I specialize in areas such as addiction, adolescent and teen mental/behavioral health, anger management, anxiety, depression, grief/bereavement, LGBTQIA+ support, life transitions, intimate/romantic relationships, spirituality, stress, and trauma.
