What should a new client know about working with you?

**To secure the appointment time you have requested through zocdoc, our team will reach out to you directly, please confirm with us and complete all of our onboarding paperwork to ensure a smooth initial appointment** Creating a safe and inclusive space is vital to me to best serve a diverse range of clients who come with their own complex, unique life experiences, which includes being part of marginalized groups or having complicated childhoods or challenges in the past. I often utilize therapy sessions to support clients in gaining deeper insight into how those past experiences might be impacting their current relationships and wellbeing now. Although I have personal experiences within marginalized groups as a woman of color, I utilize an inclusive approach to acknowledge and honor each person’s unique journey. I want to take a moment to celebrate and honor your bravery in seeking out support and beginning (or starting anew) your therapy journey! The time in each therapy session will be yours, so we will go at your pace and take it one session at a time. My goal is to make space for all parts of you to show up as your authentic self and actualize the life you’ve been envisioning by taking intentional steps towards your desired destination. I have been trained in a range of therapeutic disciplines and work collaboratively with my clients to build a treatment plan that is tailored to their individual needs. My work is grounded in being Humanistic and Person-Centered, which means that you are my priority and building a strong foundation for our therapeutic relationship is paramount to me. I am very much a believer in lifelong learning, and was privileged with the opportunity to attend the National Institute for the Psychotherapies in New York City. There I was able to deepen my knowledge and enhance my clinical skills to better serve my clients. In 2021, I completed the certificate program in Psychodynamic Approaches in Clinical Practice.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Please work with my intake team to complete all onboarding paperwork ahead of your intake appointment which will be online. If you are in the Houston area I am happy to arrange in person visits at the office after the intake process is complete. I only offer in person appointments after the initial intake session has been completed online. When you’re ready, book an intake appointment for us to begin your therapy journey. Once you book your intake through zocdoc, a member of the Destination Therapy team will reach out to you directly to ensure you have all of the intake paperwork completed ahead of time, then your appointment will be confirmed. That information will help guide the initial appointment and help me better understand the support you are looking for. During the intake appointment, I will assess your needs and identify goals to collaboratively create a treatment plan that is unique to you. IMPORTANT: Like most specialty providers, Destination Therapy does not participate in any insurance plans. Paying out-of-pocket is a great option for people who want maximum privacy, confidentiality, and flexibility. Standard length individual therapy sessions with me at Destination Therapy cost $200, these sessions are 50 minutes long. Many of our clients are able to receive reimbursement from their insurance provider if they have out-of-network (OON) benefits. For more information concerning reimbursement for OON benefits, please speak with our Destination Therapy team. Let’s work together so you can move towards a place of healing.
