“Morgan appears to have most of these styles in our sessions. She cares, listens and offers options, :What do you(I) think that comes from, how can you, (i) do to implement a positive approach to the situation; How long has this been in issue, it sounds as if it goes farther back than just currently… She identifies with me in many factors, age, background, area lived in, viewpoint in general. She really offers me an opportunity to see a positive outcome to the situation at hand.”

Getting to know Morgan Burgess

Hi, my name is Morgan. Do you ever feel that your life is a big puzzle with some pieces missing? You’re not sure how to find those pieces, and if you do, you don’t know where they fit. So you look for someone to help you find the pieces and put them where they belong. It’s not always easy, but once completed, you feel whole. I was there once. As an only child in a two-parent home, I never felt I could fit in. I once asked my mother if I had been adopted. Why? My parents were meat and potatoes; I welcomed food from all over the world. They were conservative, I was more liberal; they hated NYC, I loved the city and lived there for many years. They never went to a New York play or opera, and I loved plays and operas. Get the picture? The differences were astonishing. At 21, I left the U.S. to travel abroad alone for six months. My eyes were wide open! I loved experiencing different cultures, and my curiosity for differences never went away. I realized we have more in common than we realize if we give each culture a chance. After much time in night school, a mentor told me about social work. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from Fordham University, and began a new career. Finding your niche in society is refreshing, even if it takes 10 years or more. After years in the field and various jobs, I joined the Department of Defense as a Clinical Social Worker for the Navy. After 14 years of government work, I went into private practice. Private practice fuels me! It’s humbling to be invited into the most personal lives of people and watch them transform into something unique and beautiful. I treat anxiety, depression, ADHD, sexual trauma, grief over loss of a person or animal, stress management, and life’s transitions.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
