Morgan Mansker, LPC

Psychotherapist
OR
I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor providing telehealth therapy for adults across Oregon. I work with people navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, burnout, relationship stress, and periods of feeling disconnected from themselves or their lives. Many of my clients are insightful and self-aware, but still find themselves stuck in patterns that insight alone has not changed. My approach blends psychodynamic, somatic, and trauma-informed therapy, including Brainspotting. I’m interested not only in understanding symptoms intellectually, but also in helping clients notice how stress, emotion, and past experiences continue to live in the nervous system and shape daily life. Therapy with me is collaborative, conversational, and tailored to the individual rather than rigidly structured. I tend to work especially well with people who spend a lot of time “in their head,” including professionals, creatives, and analytical thinkers who may struggle to slow down, access emotion, or feel fully present in relationships. My style is warm, grounded, and direct, with an emphasis on honesty, curiosity, and creating a space where clients can explore themselves without feeling judged or pressured. I believe meaningful change often happens gradually through greater self-awareness, emotional processing, nervous system regulation, and reconnecting with parts of ourselves that may have been pushed aside over time. My goal is to help clients feel more connected, flexible, and alive in their day-to-day lives rather than simply functioning or getting by.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Clients often describe me as engaged, genuine, and easy to talk to. I try to create a space that feels relaxed and human while still being thoughtful and focused. I’m not the kind of therapist who sits silently the entire session or follows a rigid script. Therapy with me tends to feel more collaborative and conversational. I work best with clients who want more than surface-level coping strategies and are interested in understanding themselves more deeply. At the same time, I try to keep therapy practical and grounded in real life. Depending on the client, sessions may involve exploring relationship patterns, emotions, body awareness, stress responses, past experiences, or current challenges that feel difficult to move through alone. I also understand that starting therapy can feel uncomfortable, especially for people who are used to handling things on their own or who tend to intellectualize their emotions. I don’t expect clients to know exactly what to say or how to “do therapy.” Part of the process is learning to slow down, notice patterns, and build a better relationship with yourself over time. I value honesty and authenticity in the therapy relationship and aim to meet clients where they are rather than forcing a particular agenda or pace.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Early sessions are usually focused on getting a clearer picture of what’s bringing someone to therapy, what patterns they’ve noticed in their life, and what they hope will feel different over time. I also spend time understanding a client’s background, relationships, stressors, strengths, and previous experiences with therapy. From there, the process becomes more individualized. Some sessions are more exploratory and insight-oriented, while others are more focused on practical problem solving, emotional regulation, or processing difficult experiences. I often integrate body awareness and nervous system-focused techniques into sessions, especially when clients feel emotionally “stuck,” disconnected, overwhelmed, or caught in repetitive patterns. For some clients, Brainspotting may become part of the work. Brainspotting is a focused, trauma-informed approach that can help access and process experiences that may feel difficult to fully resolve through talking alone. I introduce these approaches collaboratively and at a pace that feels manageable for the client. My overall goal is to help clients better understand themselves, respond to stress more effectively, improve relationships, and create lasting internal change rather than short-term symptom management alone.
