Getting to know Morgan Shafer

I am a dedicated licensed professional counselor who is passionate about helping people find a sense of balance and purpose in their lives. I have been in the counseling field since 2015. I believe in a holistic approach to counseling, creating a safe place to incorporate physical, mental, and spiritual aspects of life. My goal is to encourage you and walk with you as you strive to reach your personal goals. With a collaborative approach, I aim to create a treatment plan with you that best fits your individual needs and unique personality. I work with adults and teens.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach is gentle and encouraging. Sessions are conversational and compassionate. I utilize an eclectic approach that is person-centered and client-directed, focusing on each client's unique needs and personality.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Wondering what to expect at your first appointment? The first session is a time to get to know you and to discuss your unique situation and your goals for therapy. It can be helpful to think of it as a conversation getting to know you and helping you know what to expect going forward. I aim to go at the pace you are comfortable with, ensuring you feel as comfortable as possible as we begin the therapeutic process. Often clients will meet with me once a week or every-other week when they begin sessions, but this can vary based on each client's needs. We will discuss frequency of sessions at the end of your first session.

Ongoing session: $95 for 50 minutes

Payment Information: I do not accept insurance. Payments can be made via debit, credit, HSA (health savings account), or FSA (flex savings account) card. Exceptions: Please note, because my practice is self-pay I am unable to see clients who have Medicare or Medicaid through Wisconsin insurance due to the state's policy about out-of-network providers.
