Hi, I'm Mridula! Do you ever feel like you're constantly stuck in your head? Maybe your mind never seems to slow down. You're always overthinking, replaying conversations, worrying about what's next, or feeling overwhelmed by emotions you can't quite explain. Or perhaps you've been feeling disconnected from yourself, exhausted, or simply going through the motions. I'm an Associate Professional Counselor who works with individuals navigating anxiety, panic attacks, depression, chronic stress, burnout, and major life transitions. I particularly enjoy helping people who feel caught in cycles of overthinking or overwhelmed by their thoughts and emotions. My approach is warm, calming, collaborative, and grounded in the connection between mind and body. I incorporate mindfulness-based practices, breath awareness, grounding techniques, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and person-centered approaches to help you better understand your experiences and develop practical coping skills. Together, we'll practice slowing down, noticing what you're experiencing without immediately needing to fix it, and learning ways to respond to difficult thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations with greater awareness and confidence. I also have specialized education in art therapy and can incorporate creative expression into our sessions when words alone don't feel like enough. You don't need any artistic experience, and creative approaches are always optional. I believe therapy should be a place where you can pause, reconnect with yourself, and explore what you need without judgment or pressure to have everything figured out. My goal is to help you feel more grounded, connected, and capable of navigating life's challenges while building meaningful changes that extend beyond our sessions.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, especially when you're already carrying a lot mentally and emotionally. You don't need to know exactly what's wrong, have all the right words, or know where to begin. Our first sessions will focus on understanding your experiences, what has been feeling difficult, and what you'd like to change. We'll move at a pace that feels comfortable while identifying goals and approaches that fit your needs. My hope is to create a calm, welcoming space where you can slow down, feel heard, and begin reconnecting with yourself. We'll take things one step at a time.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My approach combines self-exploration with practical skills to help you better understand and navigate your thoughts, emotions, and physical experiences. We'll begin by exploring your concerns, personal experiences, current stressors, and goals for therapy. As we continue, we'll identify patterns that may contribute to anxiety, panic, emotional overwhelm, or feeling stuck. I place particular emphasis on the mind-body connection. Our sessions may incorporate breath awareness, grounding exercises, mindfulness, and present-moment practices to help you recognize and respond to what you're experiencing. I also draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to explore patterns in thinking and behavior and develop useful coping strategies. When appropriate, we may incorporate art therapy techniques as an additional way to explore and express emotions that are difficult to put into words. My goal is to help you develop tools you can carry into everyday life, feel more connected to yourself, and approach challenges with greater clarity and confidence.
