Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there! My name is Musa, and I’m an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, licensed to provide counseling services under supervision in California. At the core of my work, I believe that people aren't problems to be solved, but rather stories that crave to be understood. Maybe you're here because life has become a little harder to carry lately. Maybe you're moving through anxiety, trauma, grief, relationship struggles, burnout, questions about who you are, or a transition that has left you wondering what comes next. Or maybe you can't quite put your finger on what's wrong—you just know that something doesn't feel right. Whatever brings you here, you don't have to have it all figured out. I see therapy as an invitation to slow down. To take a breath. To become curious about your story and the experiences that have shaped you. We can talk about your relationships, your identity, your culture, the expectations you've inherited, the things you've had to survive, and even the parts of yourself you've learned to hide or put aside along the way. My approach is relational, trauma-informed, and culturally attuned. I believe therapy isn't something I do to you—it's something we create together. I'm here to listen, ask questions, and walk alongside you as we make sense of what you're carrying and discover what feels meaningful and possible.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My experiences as a Palestinian-American have shaped the way I understand people and the worlds they carry with them. I've come to appreciate how deeply our mental health is connected to our families, communities, cultures, histories, and relationships. I've seen how grief and resilience, hope and hardship, can exist side by side. I'm especially drawn to working with people who have felt caught between worlds or between different versions of themselves—including those who grew up in religious environments and are navigating questions of identity, belonging, faith, family, or meaning; Palestinian, Arab, and SWANA communities; immigrants and first-generation adults; LGBTQ+ clients; and being a licensed attorney myself, attorneys and other professionals navigating burnout, identity, and the pressures of demanding careers.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

You don't need the perfect words. You don't need to know exactly what you want from therapy. You don't need to make your story sound neat or make sense before we begin. I hope therapy can become a place where you can come as you are—a place for the complicated parts, the parts that have helped you survive, and the parts of you that are still becoming. You can bring your questions, your uncertainty, your hopes, and even the things you aren't quite ready to put into words yet. You don't have to carry your story alone.
