Nadine Abdelrahim, MS

Psychotherapist
1811 W North Ave, Ste 402, Chicago, IL
This is a pre-licensed provider I have witnessed how pain and resilience move through generations, how systemic injustices and unspoken stories can leave people carrying burdens that were never theirs to hold. Becoming a therapist felt like a way to not only witness these truths but to create space for healing and transformation. I believe healing doesn’t happen in isolation. Our lives are shaped by the relationships we hold with family, partners, communities, and ourselves. My background in public health, family services, and the arts has shown me that healing isn’t just about finding answers. It’s also about finding new ways to express what’s been unspoken, unseen, or misunderstood.

Getting to know Nadine Abdelrahim

What should a new client know about working with you?

I specialize in working with couples, families, and individuals navigating identity, trauma, intimacy, and connection. My practice affirms diverse relationship dynamics and welcomes LGBTQ+ clients, including those in kink-involved and non-traditional relationships. I’m especially committed to centering BIPOC voices, honoring intersectional identities, and creating a culturally responsive space where clients don’t have to explain or defend their lived experiences. Your voice, culture, relationships, and truths will be met with compassion and respect.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Therapy with me is collaborative and rooted in curiosity, not judgment. I believe you are the expert of your own life, and my role is to walk alongside you as you explore what feels most authentic. With a background in sexual health research and family systems work, I bring both clinical insight and cultural sensitivity to each session. Together, we may explore relationship patterns, unpack past harm, and create space for pleasure, intimacy, and joy that may have felt out of reach. My approach is trauma-informed and liberation-based, recognizing that healing is personal yet deeply connected to the systems and stories that shape us. I strive to create a space where vulnerability feels safe and where every part of you whether hidden, still unfolding, or deeply cherished is welcome and valued.
