Hi, I’m Nadine Mejia, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 10 years of experience supporting individuals and families through some of life’s most challenging transitions. I specialize in perinatal mental health, helping parents navigate postpartum mood disorders, perinatal loss, grief, parenting stress, and the transition to parenthood. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from California State University, Fresno, which laid the foundation for my clinical expertise. My passion for this work stems from both my personal and professional experiences. As a proud Army Veteran, I witnessed the strength and resilience of others in the face of adversity, and my own non-linear journey to motherhood deepened my empathy and drive to help others during this transformative time. I believe therapy is a courageous step toward self-discovery and growth. My goal is to create a safe, compassionate space where you can process your experiences, gain new insights, and work toward the life you envision.

What should a new client know about working with you?

When we work together, you’ll find that my approach is compassionate, collaborative, and tailored to your unique needs. Building trust and rapport is at the heart of my work because I believe a strong therapeutic relationship is key to creating meaningful change. I draw from evidence-based modalities like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, and trauma-informed care to guide our sessions. My approach is also holistic, incorporating cultural competency and principles of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion to ensure you feel respected and valued. Therapy with me is not one-size-fits-all. Together, we’ll explore your goals and challenges, and I’ll adapt my tone and methods to meet you where you are. My aim is to empower you with the tools and understanding you need to navigate life’s complexities with greater confidence and self-compassion.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In our first session, we’ll spend time getting to know each other and discussing what brought you to therapy. I’ll ask questions about your life experiences, challenges, and goals to better understand how I can support you. This session is also an opportunity for you to ask questions and share what you hope to gain from therapy. As we move forward, sessions will be a collaborative space where we explore your concerns, identify patterns, and work toward meaningful change. Depending on your needs, I may incorporate techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, or trauma-informed care to help you process your experiences and develop practical coping strategies. Each session is tailored to your unique journey. Some days, we may focus on problem-solving or specific challenges, while other sessions might center on reflection, healing, or self-discovery. Throughout our work together, I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental environment where you feel heard, understood, and supported. Your healing is my priority, and I look forward to helping you navigate this chapter with compassion and care.
