Nakisha Hughs, LMHC

Psychotherapist
1200 Westlake Ave N, Ste 901, Seattle, WA
Starting therapy is a courageous step, and I honor the strength it takes to begin this journey. I specialize in supporting individuals navigating life transitions, relational challenges, and emotional overwhelm, with a particular focus on making mental health care accessible and affirming. My approach My approach is collaborative, grounded in evidence-based practices like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, while also honoring each client’s lived experience. I enjoy looking at our journey together from a holistic approach, an eclectic approach. This might include somatic therapies, nontraditional modalities, which will be tailored to meet you where you are. I believe therapy should be both practical and deeply human, where insight meets action, and healing unfolds through connection. My focus I find passion in working with the first responders of our community. I currently work with the Department of Corrections as a mental health provider, but I work closely with the correctional staff. I have gained lived experience while working in corrections. I primarily focus on providing individual care to adults, either in person or virtually. I have over 15 years of clinical experience with training in complex PTSD. I will be starting First Responder Training certification, as well as utilizing multiple modalities to meet a client's individual needs. Over this next year, I will be seeking EMDRIA training as well. My communication style I value an open, non-judgmental, straightforward, but easy-going approach. I strive to create a welcoming environment where everyone feels safe to explore. I believe in transparency as a therapeutic alliance and am often subject to challenges to help foster growth within the safe space. This allows for self-reflection, insight, and rapport building.
