Getting to know Nancy Albus

My career path into behavioral health began with my own journey of self-discovery. In my thirties, I returned to school to earn my master’s degree in Counseling from the University of Missouri, St. Louis, exploring new career options. I was searching for something that would provide a deeper sense of purpose and meaning than my previous work. I also wanted to prepare for the future shift in my identity when my children left home and my role as a mother evolved. Additionally, as a mother raising two daughters, I felt drawn to better understand eating disorders. What I found was a passion for a career that fosters personal transformation and healing—a process that encourages the open communication of feelings and thoughts without judgment, creating space for change. For over 18 years, I have worked with individuals facing eating disorders, anxiety, depression, and the everyday challenges that can impact happiness and quality of life. I feel fortunate to support people seeking growth and personal development, even when the journey is difficult. Having spent most of my life in St. Louis and raised my daughters here, I understand firsthand the unique pressures of parenting, balancing work and motherhood, caring for aging parents, and navigating my own aging process. I hope to offer you a compassionate path toward healing.
