Hi there, I'm Nancy! Nancy Auvil, M.S. LMFT 44728, MEd Multicultural Counseling, EMDR-Certified. Client-centered therapy, focused on treating the whole person, integrating best practices using evidence-based therapeutic interventions and unconditional positive regard. My approach EMDR: Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing for trauma resolution and peak performance. CBT: Changing negative thinking, challenging unhealthy core beliefs, creating behavioral change, and establishing healthy movement and social practices. DBT: Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Emotional Regulation, and Interpersonal Communication Skills. Non-judgmental radical acceptance of “what is” and empowerment to make changes. My focus As a generalist in outpatient psychiatry for the past 10 years, I can effectively treat most mental disorders such as anxiety, depression, and trauma. I began treating problem gambling in 2008 as part of a pilot research program with UCLA and the California Office of Problem Gambling. I enjoy seeing individuals, couples, and families.
