Hi there, I'm Nancy! My name is Nancy Hamstreet, and I am a licensed clinical therapist. I love my job because I have the pleasure of meeting awesome people from all walks of life. I look forward to meeting you. My approach My approach to therapy begins with getting acquainted with clients. Besides using an approach that fits their therapeutic goals, I like to build on a client's individual strengths and potential as a base for therapeutic growth. My focus I have experience with clients of all ages, but my primary focus has been with children and adolescents. Although I've had extensive experience with the Autism Spectrum, I have also helped individuals with mood regulation, anxiety, depression, grief, and other related co-existing emotional struggles. My communication style I always work to provide a comfortable and fun environment for my clients. The goal is to eliminate any stressful or tense climate during a session. My journey to mental healthcare I was raised in a "helping" atmosphere where we were taught to care for others and give of ourselves. I began my career as a teacher but was always drawn to children who appeared to struggle with emotional control and behavior. This led me to pursue my Master's in Social Work from Western Michigan University. My goals for you I strive to take my clients' input in establishing goals.
