Hi there, I'm Nancy! Greetings, I am Nancy Hauck, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LISW-CP, in South Carolina. I am based in eastern North Carolina but practice with clients located in South Carolina. As a therapist, I have helped countless clients on their journey toward making changes that enhance healthy behavior. My approach My approach to therapy is based on the individual needs of each client. I most frequently use therapies that are known to be effective for treating each client’s particular needs and goals. My focus Though much of my training and experience has focused on treating trauma, the core of my practice is with adults facing a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma experiences, relationship issues, life transitions, and career challenges. My communication style My communication style is interactive and nonjudgmental. Through active listening and empathy, I provide an environment for self-disclosure and reflection. Clients feel a sense of hope, acceptance, and understanding and often leave sessions feeling relief and more positive. My journey to mental healthcare In addition to a desire to help people, personal and professional satisfaction continues to drive me to practice. After receiving my BSW degree and working in child welfare, I made the decision to transition into clinical practice. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from the University of North Carolina Greensboro through the first joint MSW program focused on cultural diversity at UNC Greensboro and North Carolina Agricultural and Technical University. I completed my field placement in outpatient mental health at a large VA Medical Center, which transitioned into employment as a therapist upon graduation. During this time, we treated many returning OIF/OEF veterans, providing me with the opportunity to receive advanced training in various treatment modalities. This experience continues to motivate me to become a better therapist.
