Getting to know Nancy Keller

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Texas and Oklahoma. I am a compassionate therapist dedicated to helping individuals navigate challenges in their lives such as depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship issues, life transitions, & recovering from narcissistic abuse. My approach to therapy is both personalized & collaborative, drawing from models such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Schema Therapy, & Motivational Interviewing. I aim to create a safe environment where we can work together to identify and change negative thought & behavior patterns, learn to regulate emotions, and make positive choices for the future. I work with clients who are experiencing depression, anxiety, family or relationship issues, exploring career options or changes and are interested in making positive changes in their lives. I provide an open, warn, & nonjudgmental environment so that clients can feel safe, seen, and heard. I see life as a journey with various stops and starts, choices, and change of direction. It is never too early or too late to take inventory of one's own life and seek new ways to approach life in order to get different outcomes than one has been getting. Working with people along this journey and seeing change is what drives me to do this work. I approach goal setting by allowing the client to identify goals for themselves and what they would like to accomplish. I use the SMART goal approach. During the first session, the focus will be on building rapport, and discussing confidentiality, boundaries, attendance, and expectations from therapy. The client will be encouraged to discuss what brought them to therapy & what their goals are and, together, we will discuss how they can achieve success in the therapy journey.
