Psychotherapist
FL
I've always believed that people are far more resilient than they realize. Sometimes they simply need a safe place to be heard, supported, and reminded of their strengths. That's why I became a therapist over 18 years ago, and it's still what inspires me everyday. Since earning my Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from Capella University in 2008, I have dedicated my career to helping children, adolescents, adults, and families navigate life's challenges with compassion, understanding, and hope. Over the past 18 years, I have had the privilege of working in a variety of mental health setting, allowing me to support individuals from diverse backgrounds with unique experiences and needs. Throughout my career, I have specialized in treating anxiety, depression, trauma, eating disorders, behavioral concerns, parenting challenges, and major life transitions. Whether I am working with a young child learning to manage big emotions, a teenager struggling with self-esteem, or an adult navigating stress, grief, or overwhelming life circumstances, I believe every person deserves to feel understood, respected, and empowered. In additional to being a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, I am a Registered Play Therapist and hold both the Florida Director Credential and NICCM Credential. I have had also had the privilege of supervising counseling interns, helping mentor future mental health professionals while remaining committed to ongoing education and professional growth myself. People often tell me they appreciate that I am genuine, easy to talk to, and able to balance compassion with practical guidance. I believe therapy is most effective when clients feel safe enough to be themselves and supported enough to grow. My goal is to create an environment where healing feels possible, strengths are discovered, and clients leave each session with hope and tools they can use in everyday life.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Seeking help takes courage, and I consider it an honor to walk alongside my clients as they navigate life's challenges and discover their own resilience. Whether you're seeking support for yourself, your child, or your family, I look forward to helping you move toward a healthier, more fulfilling future. My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and individualized. I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Every client brings their own strengths, experiences, and goals, and together we create a treatment plan that fits who they are. I draw from evidenced-based approaches including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Client-Centered Therapy, behavioral interventions, and play therapy to help clients develop practical skills that create lasting change. our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin building a foundation of trust. We’ll discuss what has brought you to therapy, explore your personal experiences and strengths, and identify goals that are meaningful to you. For children and adolescents, I partner with parents or caregivers to better understand their needs and create a supportive path forward. By the end of our first session, my hope is that you feel comfortable, understood, and confident that we are taking the first steps toward positive change together.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and tailored to each individual's unique needs. During our first session, we'll spend time getting to know one another, discussing what brought you to therapy, exploring your personal history, strengths, and current challenges, and identify your goals for treatment. I believe in creating a safe, supportive, and judgement-free space where clients feel comfortable being themselves As therapy progresses, we work together to build practical skills, process difficult experiences, and create meaningful, lasting change. I integrate evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Client-Centered Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Play Therapy, and behavioral interventions, depending on each client's needs. Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, autism spectrum concerns, eating disorders, life transitions, or relationship challenges, my goal is to help you feel understood, empowered, and equipped with tools. that extend beyond our sessions.
