Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, I'm Nancy! For over 25 years, I've worked with the Superior Court of California in Alameda County, where I've had the privilege of recommending counseling, facilitating mediation, supporting families affected by domestic violence, and helping children navigate the challenges of separation. I've worked extensively with individuals struggling with addiction and helped guide them to recovery. In group therapy, I have supported artists to encourage them to work with passion and courage and to exhibit their artwork. Working with children is one of my pleasures. PsyD. LMFT. My approach My passion lies in helping clients grow through difficult transitions in life. I bring a strong foundation in cultural awareness, child development, and family reunification. I strive to create a safe and supportive space. As a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a Doctorate in Psychology, I am here to help you move through your concerns with support. I work in many modalities, choosing one that best assists you in achieving your goals. My goal is to work with you so we can craft a plan to help you achieve success. My focus When my clients are experiencing life issues and they need the help of a therapist to find a resolution, I am very respectful and supportive of their feelings. I strive to construct new approaches to their current situation. Narrative therapy offers a respectful approach to overcome the negativity of controlling emotions and create a new understanding of their situation. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is another helpful modality that is useful in setting goals and monitoring progress. This type of therapy provides clear rewards and focuses on challenges. My communication style I work with clients so we can clearly understand which approach will be successful in the therapeutic process. I use comforting, clear communication, stressing that regardless of what type of therapeutic approach we choose, I will be there with emotional support and kindness.
