Getting to know Naomi Passarelli

Therapy is special. There are few places in this world were we feel safe to be authentic, explore our deepest selves, and work on healing from our past so that our present is better. This is why therapy matters. This kind of focused work helps us become whole and connect with others in a meaningful way. It requires honestly, hard work, and connection with your therapist.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I am not an expert in all things. I know some things about mental health and I have studied and worked at becoming a high quality support, advocate, and co-traveler with clients as they work towards their chosen mental health goals. I am highly collaborative and attachment based. The therapeutic relationship and your ability to trust me with your stories is a huge piece of the work we will do. I am research informed and use only the stuff I know will help you reach your goals.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My typical process starts with you letting me know why you are pursuing therapy. From there we explore history and possible diagnosis. Next, you and I will collaborate to set treatment goals and take the next steps towards healing. I use EMDR with most clients and appreciate it's balanced focus on cognitive and somatic healing.
