Getting to know Naomi Steinberg

Every person deserves to be heard, understood, and recognized for their unique qualities; that wonderful feeling of relief when someone finally understands you, empathizes with you, and just ?gets you? is truly incomparable. I truly believe that more important than any skill or technique I've learned is the importance of the relationship between my client and myself. My clients will have a space where they can be themselves and will begin the process of understanding, accepting, and valuing themselves. I hold a Master's in Social Work from City University of New York, Hunter College, which has deeply informed my approach to fostering these meaningful connections.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My style is warm, empathetic, real and honest. I work from the framework that our past affects our present reality. Sometimes we may need to go back, in order to move forward. I use a "parts" informed perspective. I am trained in EMDR and Interpersonal Psychotherapy along with other modalities.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I meet clients where they are at when they walk into my office. This is their time and space to decide how to use. A client might come in and need to debrief on their week, while another week they might want to explore using EMDR and IFS techniques.
