Psychotherapist
PA
Hi there, I'm Nashonne! Hello, I'm Nashonne Watson. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor practicing in Pennsylvania. I hold a Master's in Counseling from Alvernia University. In my work, I use an eclectic approach combining my 13 years of counseling experience and evidence-based practice to create a safe space where you can be vulnerable and grow. My approach Over the years, I have completed certifications in trauma counseling, spirituality-based counseling, and perinatal treatment. In addition, I am trained in DBT for adults and adolescents, CBT, EMDR, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, and am presently training in Brainspotting. My focus While I treat clients from diverse backgrounds, I am well-versed in using a trauma-focused perspective. Instead of asking what is wrong with you, I ask, what happened to you? This approach effectively addresses symptoms of depression, anxiety, grief, aging, stress, transitions, serious mental illnesses, and especially complex trauma. My communication style Clients often tell me I am inquisitive and that I create an understanding, non-judgmental environment where they feel safe to be themselves. My journey to mental healthcare I was called to become a therapist through my personal experiences with trauma. Having sat on both sides of the therapy desk, I believe counseling is a journey. The examples set by members of my support system encouraged me throughout my training. My goals for you My goal is to support you in your counseling journey by setting goals that work for you and are measurable. I use evidence-based tools to help you track your progress over time. My first session with you In our first session, we will begin building rapport. You are welcome to ask me about my experience and background, and I will ask about what brings you to counseling, your background, and your family of origin.
