What should a new client know about working with you?

I maintain a limited caseload and reserve appointment times specifically for each client. Please schedule an appointment only if you are reasonably certain that you can attend your initial session and are prepared to complete the onboarding process and required paperwork. A minimum of 24 hours' notice is required for cancellations or rescheduling requests. Late cancellations and missed appointments may be subject to a fee in accordance with practice policies and informed consent documents. Thank you for scheduling thoughtfully and respecting the time reserved for your care and for other individuals seeking services.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Every client is unique, and I tailor treatment to each person's goals, history, and current needs. Our first sessions focus on understanding your concerns, identifying patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and establishing goals for therapy. Together, we explore how past experiences, attachment patterns, thoughts, emotions, and nervous system responses may be influencing your present challenges and incorporate skills and behaviors that can improve your well-being in the future. As an EMDR-trained trauma therapist, I often incorporate EMDR therapy when appropriate. During EMDR, when a client brings to mind emotionally disturbing memories, the therapist encourages the brain's natural healing process through bilateral stimulation, such as eye movements or tapping. This process can help thoughts, emotions, beliefs, and memories become more integrated and reprocessed in a way that reduces distress and promotes healing. My goal is to provide a supportive, compassionate, and nonjudgmental environment where you feel safe exploring your experiences, strengthening emotional regulation, and developing greater self-understanding, self-confidence, and lasting change.
