“I was privileged to be able to meet with Natalie weekly for therapy for a year at a non-profit agency before she opened Perspectives for Thought. I loved meeting with her as she made me laugh and helped me greatly with my anxiety and insomnia. I have had other therapists before, and she made me feel extremely comfortable right away. I cannot thank her enough for her invaluable support and helping me gain insight and knowledge about myself. I highly respect and recommend her to anyone seeking therapy.”

Getting to know Natalie Campbell

Investing in your emotional health is one of the best decisions you can ever make. Whether your life has been flipped upside down or you simply feel that things can be better, we can all benefit from extra support and gain insight from an objective lens. Ongoing responsibilities often prevent our emotional needs of being seen, heard, and understood from being met in a satisfying way. I provide an atmosphere where you can be yourself, and together, we can help you reach your goals-whether they involve improving relationships, career, parenting, or overcoming unhealthy habits. I am personable, trauma-informed, and use an eclectic approach drawing from various therapies, including Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP), Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy, TEAM-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, DBT, and Solution-Focused Therapy. My previous career was in rehabilitation, working with pain, disability, athletes, and nursing home populations, and I also understand the challenges of managing a chronic health condition. I hold a Master's degree in Clinical Social Work from San Diego State University and a Bachelor's degree from Washington University in St. Louis. The pandemic has affected people in different ways, but all have experienced some degree of isolation and loss. I commend your decision to reach out for support and look forward to working with you. I offer flexible availability for evenings and weekends, the ability to change appointment times via text, and appointment reminders by email and text. I usually respond within the same day.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I have a previous history of working with clients and families in rehabilitation, physical therapy, and chronic illness. I try to make the client as comfortable as much as possible as therapy can cover really difficult topics. I try to engage with a kind but firm approach and have a relatively direct style.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I start by wanting to learn about what your priorities and goals are. I try to get a sense of your background to help me understand why you are the way you are and then go from there. I also want to know about your past therapy experiences in terms of what has helped and what has not worked for you.
