Getting to know Natalie Gaida

You love each other, but you keep ending up in the same place. One of you pushes to be heard while the other goes quiet. Touch has gotten complicated, whether you’re the one who keeps reaching and getting turned down, or the one who feels pressured and can’t explain why. You’ve had the same fight, made up, and never really repaired it. Maybe you’ve even tried therapy before and nothing changed. I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and I work only with couples. My primary training is in Relational Life Therapy (RLT) with Terry Real, along with Somatic Sex Therapy with Holly Richmond. I’ve also trained in the Gottman Method, PACT, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Discernment Counseling. Couples come to me for communication and conflict, desire and intimacy, affair recovery, and decisions about whether to stay together. Whatever brought you here, the goal is the same: interrupt the cycle so you can build something that holds.

What should a new client know about working with you?

y approach is direct and body-based. We don’t just talk about what’s wrong. We get precise about what’s actually happening between you, in the room and in your body, especially in the moments when you want to shut down, win the argument, go numb, or fix it and move on. I’m active and emotionally engaged in sessions. I’ll tell you what I see, because directness is a form of care, not criticism. You’ll leave with practical tools and real insight into the patterns keeping you stuck, and every session stays focused on what you came for. If this sounds familiar, reaching out is the first step.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

We start with a free 30-minute consultation call so I can hear what’s bringing you in and you can get a sense of how I work. The first two sessions are two hours each. We use that time to understand the patterns between you, the history each of you brings, and what you each want from the relationship. I’ll share what I see clearly and we’ll agree on where to focus. After that, we typically meet every two weeks. Sessions are active. Rather than recapping your week, we work with what’s happening right now: a recent fight, a moment of disconnection, or what shows up between you in the room. I’ll slow things down, help each of you notice what’s happening in your body, and coach you through a different way of responding to each other. You’ll often leave with something specific to practice before we meet again. When we’re working on intimacy and it’s appropriate for you as a couple, sessions may include guided touch exercises between the two of you. These help you notice what’s happening in your bodies and your connection in ways that talking alone can’t reach. We go at a pace that feels right for both of you, and you’re always free to pause or skip any exercise. Sessions are virtual, so you can meet from home anywhere in Massachusetts.

In-network insurances

Natalie Gaida, LMFT is not in-network with any insurances

It’s common for mental health providers to be out-of-network. Many insurance plans offer out-of-network coverage, so you may get partially reimbursed. Learn more

More information on payments and coverage

I don’t take insurance, and sessions are private pay. My rate is $300 per hour. The first two sessions are two hours each ($600 per session), and regular sessions after that are one hour. If you have out-of-network benefits, I can provide a superbill you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Coverage for couples therapy varies a lot between plans, so it’s worth calling your insurer before we start to ask what they’ll reimburse. Working outside of insurance means your sessions aren’t shaped by what a plan will approve, and nothing about your relationship goes into an insurance record without your choosing. The initial 30-minute consultation call is always free.
