Getting to know Natalie Patterson

Hello, Welcome. I know how hard it can be to take this first step and seek therapy of any kind. I have played both the role of therapist and client over the last 20 years, so I can speak from both sides of the desk! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Pennsylvania with over 16 years in the helping profession. I earned my Master's in Social Work from Marywood University and have been a Licensed Social Worker since 2015, having held many other positions prior to that. My goal is to work with you on achieving goals that hold importance to you and to be the guide on your journey. As the client, you do most of the work; I am just there with you to offer suggestions and tools to help the process. I look forward to meeting and working with you! Please note that I DO NOT ACCEPT SAME DAY APPOINTMENTS. If you book an appointment on the same day, it will be canceled and rescheduled, if you wish.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Please note that I accept self pay clients, only (I do not accept insurance). Please note that I DO NOT ACCEPT SAME DAY APPOINTMENTS. Same day appointments will automatically be cancelled and I will reach out to you to reschedule. I am extremely open. You can ask anything or speak with me about anything. My office, or virtual space, is safe for all individuals and all ideas. Often, the difficult things to talk about are those things we should talk about. I look forward to working with you! Natalie Patterson LCSW

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Before first session: complete all forms and assessment form First session: therapist/client introductions; We discuss what brought you here. After the first session: We assess the severity of your distressing symptoms (scale of 0-10) and discuss topics of therapist and client choice. All sessions: I am a firm believer in providing some type of tool and/or skills at each session before you leave the session. This will begin at session 1. I also recommend purchasing a journal or notebook to write down the ideas that resonate with you and for homework (may be assigned occasionally) .

Natalie is extremely professional and an amazing listener. She gives incredible advice and has helped me through numerous trials and traumas over the passed year.
Natalie was attentive and able to genuinely connect with my children in their very first sessions. As parents we learned tools we could use for everyone in the house and we are all so much better for having her support and guidance. With our youngest (6 years old), I saw healthy changes almost immediately. Natalie has truly been a blessing to our whole family!
